This day is getting worse by the hour, I finally take a few days off and now I get a jury summons!
I decided to take July 2 and 3 off and stay at my parents lake house for an extended weekend.
Mom calls me at work to tell me how perfectly things work out, I got a jury summons for July 2! And she was serious!
Being that I am up there anyway, I can call on Sunday and if I have to go, I am already there.
Gee, that sounds perfect to me.
I swear I am never gonna get any time off before this baby comes......

I think you can get it postponed if you are PG. Tell them that you cannot sit properly for that amount of time & would need frequent bathroom & eating breaks. Maybe talk to your doctor about getting a note that you cannot sit that long?
I hope it works out!

You got a jury summoms for a place you do not live in?? If so, you just send it back saying you no longer live in that area.
I got one for Nassau County but I now live in Suffolk. I sent the notice back giving them my change of address. Never heard from them again.

I might have to do that, but my dad wants me to keep my registration up there. I am a conservative representative....... whatever the hell that means. I already postponed it in the winter...actually it wasn't a postponement, it was a dismissal, is that the same?

If you appeared and were dismissed in the Fall they should not be able to call you again for 4 years..... I'd call them if you have paper proof or can recall the exact dates you appeared and were dismissed.

I never appeared, I was dismissed over the phone by the judge. I don't remember the circumstances, but I called and said I couldn't make it and my dad has a little pull, so the judge dismissed me. I have no idea what that means.....

You could postpone. If you don't, that week is probably the best week to do it because July 4th is right in the middle of it. Caseloads are probably light. If you have a high number, you may never get called. And if you get called you may not have to stay more than a day because the lawyers won't want to be there either.

I did that and it worked- suffolk sent me one (where my car is registered) I sent them back my Nass County electric bill- the end
NYC sent me one- and I sent them my suffolk Lic
haven't heard from anyone yet- knock on wood- it's been 2 years

Tell them your PG, as someone else said. That should excuse you for the time being.
You really need to change your residence and voter registration to where you actually live... You can get into big trouble lying about that stuff.

I got out of jury duty...I told them I was starting a new job and I had just served a few years ago. The woman took pity on me and let me off. It's worth a shot.

I'm not lying about anything, that's my residence, one of them!

But you can only have one full-time, permanent residence is all I was saying. If you normally live / work there, then I'm sorry. I misunderstood your post.
I'd still tell them you are PG. That should be enough to get you out of it for the time being. If necessary, I'm sure your OB would write a note.
Good luck. Hopefully if you can't get out of it, they'll at least give you a high number (and you won't be called!)

You can try telling them you are pg, and I think it did work for someone on here, but in reality they may not care unless you are like, 39 weeks pregnant.
I'd just try to postpone, I am surprised they are even calling anyone on that day because usually no lawyers or judges are really working.
