I do NOT condone what is going on at the Capitol. But why all of a sudden is this wrong? It was 100% ok during the summer, the riots, the looting, the takeover of cities, you all encouraged it. Praised it, said we are exercising our rights. But now it’s wrong?
It’s a sad day, this should not be happening. And as you all have said NOT all of us are bad seeds, but yet you’re all lumping us as one. Carry on.
It was wrong then too. Violence is not a correct answer to most questions. But, the protests and stemmed from the DEATH of a black man by police. One of many. Protesting about systematic racism. Looting ensued from such - but it wasn't encouraged or called for by our Commander in Chief. This protest is based on the false premise that a fair and legal election was wrong. This protest was protesting that an election was stolen - which it was not. This protest's fundamentals are based on false premise. The ensuing looting and violence was encouraged by our Commander in Chief. They are not comparable.
And this started as a peaceful protest. I saw this on social media and saw the people who were going and their intention.
The National Guard should have been out there from the beginning to stop this.
BLM protests started as peaceful too. The National Guard was brought in prior to the BLM protest in DC but not for this one...even though violence was projected for today. Do you wonder why? It's obvious.

And protesting what???? Your fearless leader and his ridiculous claims of a stolen election. Sparking a DEADLY protest. By your president. Shameful. Disgusting. Anyone that continues to support this fool should start their own country. Awesome suggestion. Go live in your own delusional world with your king. The rest of us sane folks will live in our beloved democracy that YOUR EVIL PRESIDENT tried to destroy today. Please do carry on. As far away as possible.

National Guard on duty is obvious for many things. If it was so obvious, they should have been there sooner.

Peaceful by whose standards? If it was so peaceful, why were these peaceful protesters armed? And if it was so peaceful why was this statement enough to start a violent insurrection?
"And after this, we're going to walk down there, and I'll be there with you, we're going to walk down ... to the Capitol and we are going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women," Trump told the crowd. "And we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them. Because you'll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong."

But it's okay to lump all the left or BLM or any moderate to left leaning protest. Saying they (meaning D or Liberals) burn down their city in protest. The shoe doesn't fit so well..does it?

Again not all that went were looking for violence. Maybe if you knew people who went you would see that. Every protest can and does have bad apples.

The left wing protesters are better than the right wing protesters because they care about people and are good. Today’s protest went awry because they were supporting trump and he is bad.

I am on many groups on social media, left and right and saw who went and these were not those people. Stop listening to the main stream media.

Actually many members from a local patriot group on LI were there. In the Capitol. And bragged about it on FB.

I am in tears. I cannot believe the damage Trump has done. He is FULLY responsible. He needs to be removed from office IMMEDITELY!!!! This is treason encouraged by the president. GET HIM OUT.
TBH, I’m wondering how he was able to stay in office this long? How did this go on for his entire term, getting worse and worse. How he is still the president right now? So if our Commander in Chief starts acting like a lunatic, the only way to get him out is by an election and we are just stuck??
How did people storm the freaking capitol so fast? Where is our security? You watch the movies where terrorist storm D.C. so fast and think that doesn’t happen. Yet I just saw it on live TV, like nothing?
I have so many questions right now!

I personally think people stormed the capitol so fast without being stopped by security because most police / security are Trump supporters and believe his rhetoric that the election is rigged and fraud was committed. I say this as the wife of a police officer. My DH and all of his colleagues are serious Trump supporters and Fox News viewers.
Actually they just had a video on the news that the cops opened up the barriers and let them in. They said they will be investigating this. That they were trump supporters is opinion.

I highly doubt they were Biden supporters.

And this started as a peaceful protest. I saw this on social media and saw the people who were going and their intention.
The National Guard should have been out there from the beginning to stop this.
The groups that planned this to go together there. Not everyone was violent and didn’t plan to be. Don’t lump all these people together.
This protest was never not to be violent. ... calls from Boogaloos, an extremist group, to “Burn down DC.” One person asked on Twitter, “Whos running arms and ammo to dc for when the fun starts.” On Twitter, between Jan. 1 and Jan. 6, 1,480 posts from QAnon-related accounts referenced Jan. 6 and contained violent terms or threats including calls for “Patriots to Rise up, Kick The Tires and Light the Fires, and Kick Ass and Take Names!!”, Advance Democracy found. One post by a QAnon-related account claimed “threats of violence” were the only thing “TYRANTS understand.” "
Again not all that went were looking for violence. Maybe if you knew people who went you would see that. Every protest can and does have bad apples.
Again, the POTUS through his rhetoric, his tweets, his misleading information and his riling up of his base to be angry and made to feel disenfranchised was inciting violence from the get-go. Anyone who showed up today knew full well what was going to go down, Trump called for a revolution and a revolution is what he got.
