This is Us SPOILERS
I was surprised last night to learn that Jack had a brother...
But, I feel the same - this season isn't pulling me in the same way last season did.

This is Us SPOILERS
Total snoozefest!!!!! There is literally nothing good about this season.. Kate is really mean and annoying.. and was awful to the girl at the group-- and I have no idea how Toby puts up with her, she is a straight up b-tch to him! As for how the dad dies.. I mean get on with it already, I kind of dont even care anymore.
BTW-- why is the name Deja cheesy?? Genuinely curious.

In the first season, I liked how each episode lead to a little twist or revealed a secret. Now, I agree -- just get on with it!!!! It's like they are trying to come up with new twists and secrets each episode and it feels forced... Now its a secret brother... ugh

I don't think the name is cheesy. I think it's just cheesy for that character.
Because it's like deja vu for Randall.
And I think Kevin is a terrible actor. He's painful to watch.
Not loving this season at all. If something big doesn't happen soon. I won't continue to tune in.
And where has Miguel been? I don't recall seeing him all season.

Boring!! There is no interesting story and now throwing Jack's brother in the mix.
Kate is just mean. BTW - does she even have a job? I thought she was an assistant?! How does she afford to pay for the apartment?
Can't stand where Kevin's storyline is going. Only family I like is Randall. I wish I'd see more interaction with them as a family. Kevin is just mean too and always been mean to Randall.
I agree with PP. Where's Miguel been? Is there going to be a story in the future about how they got together?

Yes - I agree. The twists and secrets last year went together - this year, it feels all over the place.

I stopped watching but I guess Deja is the kid Randall adopted? That is a super cheesy, ridiculous name.
Also, re Kate having a job- do ANY of them have a job besides Sophie and Kevin? Randall quit his job. What does Toby do? Rebecca?
I'd be surprised if this show makes it to a fourth season.

I think this season is so boring. I'm tired of them dragging out how Jack died. I may have mentioned it before but I truly think this show thinks it's so much better than it is. It's got NOTHING on Parenthood and Brothers and Sisters. Those shows drew you in and made you care. I was so emotionally invested in all of the characters. This show is just a little too obvious and cheesy, I'm still watching but I don't love it.

Parenthood was AMAZING. I am actually starting to rewatch the series on Netflix at night after the kids are in bed. I started watching This is Us mid 1st season, because I got tired of hearing about it on Facebook. I wanted to see what the hype was about. I caught up on Hulu and then finished out the season.
It's ok. Last season was better, and ITA. All of the actors on this show make it sound like it's the greatest thing since the invention of white bread. It really isn't. I think I am kind of done.

It also was interesting to see that she had been out of touch with Miguel before they reconnected on Facebook.

i was bawling at the scene of Kevin and Jack in the hospital. and when Kevin was outside begging for someone to help him. OMG...that was moving. he needs an Emmy just for that scene. i hope he finds the necklace. and the woman he slept with...Charlotte (?)...i get she's mad he left, but what did you expect??? and she's a doctor! she couldn't tell he looks strung out?? no one could?? im just glad he slept with her and not the HS kid Kelly.
and he finally reaches out to Randal for help and Kate looses the baby. so sad for Kate...but now Kevin has to continue to keep it in and he's just going to get worse.

I was thinking the same thing! How has no one been able to see he isn't right? Sophie (nurse) Charlotte (?) (Dr)! I hope he finds the necklace too - that was heartbreaking. I felt so bad for Kevin when he went to Randall and Kate was mentioned before he could say he needed help. The previews for next week said it was an award winning episode so hopefully this season is starting to pick up.
