This may have been asked before, but how often do you bathe your dog and what kind of dog do you have?
Bowie is so smelly. We give him a bath every 4-6 weeks, which I thought was a reasonable amount of time, but I guess not.
Do I have to be doing it every week or something?
He is seriously stinky.
He's a short haired shepherd/dobie mix.

I have a cockapoo and my vet said no more than 2x a month.

i have a smooth haired doxie, low to the ground. we bathe him about every 4 weeks.

I have a field spaniel and I bathe him every two weeks without fail. He gets really smelly. As long as you are using a mild shampoo and not using a lot of heat for drying it's okay to bathe them frequently.

About 1x/month - sometimes more in the summer months. We have a Boxer.

We have a ShihTzu and he gets a bath every 2-3 weeks or so.

sniffs and expores EVERYwhere. Long
hairy ears pick up lots of smells.
I use an Organic Tear Free dog shampoo.

Me, too. The books I have on cavaliers say once a month is fine, but he gets filthy (also quite the explorer) and not to mention sometimes pees on his long fur (I use a dry shampoo every few days!). I send him to the groomer once a month for a really good grooming (nails, trim, de-knotting, etc), but also end up bathing him myself in between visits.

I have a lab mix with sensitive skin so she doesn't get a bath any more frequently than once a month - if that - so as to not dry out her skin.
But I keep sensitive baby wipes on hand and we clean her off when she comes in from playing outside (which also helps prevent some of the irritants from getting to her skin).
