This process is awful!
Why is this so complicated??? Now they found that the patio needs a variance through the town and the next meeting is Nov. 16th and we were supossed to close on Nov. 13th
I swear I really hope things start looking better... DH is handling most of the house stuff and he is beginning to lose his mind.
Just venting...

Re: This process is awful!
I totally understand, I hope I never buy a house again. This has been one of the most stressful things I have had to do in my life. we are closing tommorow at 1. I was told that if the money is not in the attorneys (Sellers Attny)acnt by 3 he is walking out . He cant do that.
I was told that the money will be there but my lawyer had to let me know what was said. This whole process has been a nightmare. Good Luck

That is the problem with people doing things to their house without getting permits first. Sometimes it makes it a hassle when trying to sell. Hope it doesn't hold you up too long....good luck!

Re: This process is awful!
A variance for a patio? That sounds strange. In my town, we only need one for a deck - not a patio.

Re: This process is awful!
As long as you guys sign the paperwork he can walk out all he wants, you still own the house. Most closings are done by everyone signing the paperwork. Towards the end of the closing, the wire will appear in the attys acct and he will cut the checks. Sometimes they will adjourn the closing until the next day of the wire hits late but that doesn't often happen. That said I have waited in closings for 3 hrs for money to appear.

Re: This process is awful!
I feel your pain right now. We just found out our buyer pulled out and the closing on our new house is delayed. I swear this is all because of the obnoxious paralegal in the law office.
Yes, it is so stressful... now I am carrying two mortages and a 6 figure home equaity loan... you don't even want to know how much money we will pay each month
