This school year is the worst!
Every day I go in and feel less competent then the day before. Due to the change in the scale scores most students did not do as well as we thought so our admin. is getting medieval on us! I swear each day I go in it is another thing they throw on our laps to do with no guidance.
I love my class but hate teaching this year, anyone else feeling this

We have about 6 "Test" prep books this year on top of the regular textbooks and curriculum- umm no time to get through it all! AND she never wants us to use them "whole" group- so it can be very

YUP! But substitute the "love" word in your sentence about your class for something else this is my worst year ever! My stomach is in knots every single day!
The anti teacher sentiment in NYC and across the nation this year doesn't make things any better either. I feel like everyone is out to get us.

Agreed! I am up now grading the pounds the work I haven't done all year so I can do my grades which are due Monday. Why haven't I done them? We have TONS of things to get ready for our JIT/QR. We're all soooooo stressed at my school.

It is not a good year
I hate my schedule....I walk around lunch duty miserable each and every day. The attitudes of 7th grade girls amazes me and it's only first quarter!
There have been a lot of changes that have made it less enjoyable. I was never like this, but again can't believe it's only October.
I'm ready for it to end already....hope it improves for all of us!

 Moe, sorry your admins are reacting like this- I am sort of struggling with the opposite- we have a new math AP this year who is very proactive. For the first time in years the department has some structure and direction without it being too much. I thought our other AP would devote more time to ELA, and yet we have so little direction and guidance. We also have a lead teacher who does very little- and a coach who I like but just isn't as effective or knowledgable as we need. Needless to say, it makes me anxious. Thankfully, my kids (I moved up with them) are awesome.

So yeah, report cards getting placed in our mailbox this afternoon as we are leaving and oh yeah they want them handed in Friday AM
