This takes the cake!
I was driving home from the store before and saw that one of my neighbors has the house decked out for Christmas already. I am talking tons of lights, Christmas tree fully decorated and LIT in the window, and an 8 foot SNOWMAN on the lawn.
SNOWMAN!! And it was like 70 degrees today.
Uh hello? It's VETERAN'S DAY!
What happened to Thanksgiving?
For some reason this really irritates the cr@p out of me!
Such a Pet Peeve of mine!
I felt like rolling down my window and yelling to the guy outside- "DID I MISS THANKSGIVING????"

you should have said it...lol...
I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!!!!! It's soooooooo annoying. I just moved to NC in Aug. from NY and 3 radio stations here are already playing CONTINUOUS XMAS MUSIC since last week..(Nov. 1st to be exact) ..... like Lite Fm does for the holidays in NY.... I wanted to scream!! I was like HELLO>>> yesterday was HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year I went into Express the day after Halloween and they had Christmas songs on...it's too late...

Hell, who am I to say anything...I took Bella to see Santa while we were at the mall today to avoid the lines next month

lol.... you're starting to become "one of them!!!" lolol...
it's understandable when you have kids. I am already planning on taking the baby for her xmas pics asap.... shes not born yet...

I'm not on "his" side...but I really can't blame him....I would take advantage of the warm weather and try to put out our outdoor decorations as well....
I hate when it suddently gets FREEZING cold and I'm outside on the roof trying not to slide off b/c I'm putting up the lights!

We love it because Damien loves to look for lights on the way home from work
I have seen one house that has a tree up already.
I think some people may put them up early if they have a family member leaving for Iraq

i have to agree with this. I think I would put up lights and other stuff so that i don't freeze my azz off later. i wouldn't put the snowman up. we actually wait till almost february to take the lights down due to the weather and coldnes..

I was in Babies R Us yesterday and I heard Christmas music. Driving home from dinner last night, we passed a house with a Christmas tree lit and in the window.
I turned to dh and said "What the heck happened to Thanksgiving"?
Its crazy..We jump from Halloween to Christmas!

I miss seeing Thanksgiving decorations- I love all those colors.
DH and I went out to dinner last night at a place that's had its Christmas stuff up since right after Halloween.
We are going out for Thanksgiving dinner- I really hope there aren't Christmas decorations all over the place.

I have to agree It feels like they dont even think of Thanksgiving as a Holiday they Just ,jump from Halloween to Christmas I feel like saying to the people in the stores "What Happened to Thanksgiving?"Like I said last week I went into 7 11 and they had christmas stuff already and I did make a VComment I was like Christmas decoratons already! he laughed.

i live in NC too and i couldn't believe it!! it's depressing sometimes... having the season around for so long takes some of the joy out of it for me

I've already seen about 6 houses with Christmas lights.
I seriously saw a house BEFORE halloween that was full blown decorated for christmas. I was going to call z100 to tell them because I thought it was so crazy. I leave the house at 6:15 so I saw it in the morning before they turned the lights off for the day.
I asked my friend who lives near them and she said they are elderly so they decorate early so they don't have to do it in the cold.

I hope these are not the people who complain that their lipa bills are so high!!-lol!!
The most expensive time of the year for me is December and we don't have that many decorations outside with lights.

Oh I am ALL FOR hanging the lights early because I have done it in the bitter cold and I agree, it is NO fun. But the thing with him is - he has them LIT already AND inside the house is a tree, fully lit and you can see further back to a mantel with stockings and lights- all done up. On VETERAN'S DAY!
They did this last year too.
It is INSANITY!
