Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
I am planning to BF, but if I need to pump, I wanted to know what system you girls are using?
What type of bottle, nipple, sterilizing, drop ins, etc.?
This is SO new to me so any tips would be great!!!!!
Thank you so much!!!

Re: Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
I have the Medela PIS Advanced.
I pump in the medela bottles. I use the bags to freeze BM. I don't pump into the bags directly. I transfer from the bottles into the bags. I use the Medela bottles to store BM in the fridge.
For feeding, I use the Playtex drop-ins. I love them. I started with Dr. Browns because DS was very gassy. After the BPA issue/scare, I switched to Playtex Drop-ins. They work much better for DS and his gas issues.

Re: Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
Perfect! Thank you, that aswered my question on how to pump! I was thinking the medela too!
So you pump into the medela bottle then transfer based on your needs.

Re: Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
Yes. I pump in the bottles and put them in the fridge. If I have too much milk I transfer the quantity I want to freeze into the freezing bags. I freeze fresh milk. I don't let it stay in the fridge. I transfer from the Medela bottles into his feeding bottles (Playtex) the amount I want to give him. I found this to be the best for me.

Re: Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
I use the Medela Pump in Style original. I pump directly into Medela bottles or Medela bags. The bags go directly into the freezer and the bottles are for short term. I got extra bottles, nipples and lids at BRU. I also got extra valves and pump supplies there too. We feed directly from the bottle, no drop-ins yet!!!

Re: Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
i use the medela pis original too. i pump into the medela bottles and freeze it in the medela bags. i don't pump directly into the bags, because i don't get that many ounces and i feel it's a waste of bags to use 2 like that. i would rather combine what i get from pumping into 1 bag.
i use the avent bottles. i don't have that much of an opinion on bottles, because i rarely use them. i basically pump for dh to have in case of emergencies and now to mix in cereal.
good luck!!

Re: Those Breastfeeding & Bottles
I have the Medela PIS advanced. At this point I pump right into their bottles, throw on a nipple we got from the hospital, and use that. We're almost out of the hospital nipples and then we will be switching to Dr. Brown's. When I want to freeze, I still pump into the bottles first, as the bags hold 5oz and I need both breasts to fill up a bag.
