Those considering getting their tubes tied after this...
...have you heard of the new alternative to that- it's called Essure.
I saw an ad for it in my Dr office yesterday and looked it up online today. Seems interesting and it's non surgical and as permanant as a tubal ligation. It's done in the Dr's office and requires no anasthesia or incisions.
I guess my only concern would be the newness of it- and it's possible long term side effects- as well as it being TRULY 100% effective.

thanks for sharing...i havent heard of that, but will look into it.
im pretty sure i do not want to do anything permanent, but i do want to do something long term...i am considering the Mirena or something similar. as much as i would love to try for a , my Dr has warned me that i will be on bed rest from the very beginning if i get PG again...i just dont know if i will be able to handle that again.

I think it is permanent. Someone on the parenting board had it done.

Yes it is permanant per the article. It's just a less invasive way of permanant sterilization...
