Those that have made cake balls/pops
If you used white chocolate, which brand did you use and did you notice it was very thick?
I have tired a few times to make them and the chocolate is so thick that the cake balls end up getting stuck in the chocolate.

I buy the white chocolate from a chocolate/candy shop near my house and I do find that it is a little think when I use a double boiler to melt it. When I use the microwave it comes out a lot better. You can also use some vegetable oil to thin it out.

I wouldn't recommend using Wilton that you find at Michael's.
If you are near a chocolate store, try to pick up Merckens or Clasens.
Even then, if it is still too thick, try adding Crisco. It thins it out.
Good luck!

Re: Those that have made cake balls/pops
I suggest not using actual white chocolate. It really is thick and difficult to get a nice, even coat. I use these now and WOW, what a difference!!
ETA: I also agree with the vegetable oil. It really helps. Always remember, heating it more doesn't thin it out, it actually makes it thicker. So if you find that it's mostly melted but still kinda thick, try adding the oil and stirring it.

I used Ghiradelli and melted in a little at a time in the microwave. Then I would use two spoons and roll the ball from one spoon to the other in the chocolate until it was completely covered.

In the past (before knowing about the vegatable oil/Crisco trick) I've had trouble with the Wilton. So I always stuck to Merckens or Clasens.
Glad you guys have no issues with Wilton!

I also used the candy melts from Micheal's. I don't know of any chocolate stores here in NJ.
I bought more candy wafers and I will try the vegetable oil.
I will keep you guys updated and let you know how it comes out.
