We have a dog and a cat. The door stays CLOSED when we are not home. The cat was ripping up his foam playmat and the dog always finds something to chew on.

thanks god my yorkie has no interest in DSs toys and is too small/scared to go up and down stairs!! She does like to sleep on his small chair in the LR which I dont have a problem with

we have a cat. we leave the door open b/c the very first time he tried jumping in the crib we had double sided tape on the sheets (before dd was born) anticipating this and he has NEVER done it again. now he will only go in her room if she is playing but never when she is sleeping.

We have a dog and a parrot....
The dog is not allowed to leave the kitchen area, and he doesn't.... and the bird is in the cage.
Even if the dog were allowed to come upstairs tho - the door would still remain open. I've always had animals in my life, and would like to have my DD experience the same.

Maggie is crated when we aren't home.
When DS is sleeping I leave the door cracked and sometimes I find Maggie in there sleeping by the crib
