Yes, I went with DH to a convention there in August or September. I really cannot keep track with him  . I used the Disney Transportaion to take me everywhere and had a great time by myself. 
As for the nice hotels, you have to stay where the convention is or it is really pricey. Every resort there has a spa and great food.

thanks guys-- the Grand Floridan looks like my pick so far of the places that I have looked-- plus I like that the spa is right there. If I have to fend for myself during the day when DH is working-- I want things to be close by.
Any other suggestions on hotels and restaurants and daytime activities that can be done either alone or with DH?
OMG you will love it...its gorgeous...we stayed their for our HM...it was awesome!

thanks-- actually, I don't eat seafood (I am a vegetarian) but DH loves fish-- I love how there is a site where you can check out all the menus for the restaurants. Also we are staying at the Beach Club resort-- we'll have to wait for the Grand Floridian when we take our future children there!
