Those who freeze batches of sauce
What do you find works best when it comes to containers?
Space isn't an issue - our freezer isn't ever very full. Anything to definitely stay away from?

Same here, that's what I freeze my stock in too.

Those who freeze batches of sauce
I put mine in a plastic container, like Tupperware and then I put the container in a freezer bag.

Re: Those who freeze batches of sauce
Glad freezer containers. The 64 oz ones, although I think they have smaller ones too. I recommend the specific freezer ones because the others tend to get really brittle and crack.

Re: Those who freeze batches of sauce
I love, love these glad ones.
I own them in large, so I don't know why they don't display them on the website. They are pretty solid, don't discolor from the sauce, circular and perfect shape for sauces and the lockware tops are great no leaks ever.

Re: Those who freeze batches of sauce
Glad square freezer containers, with a piece of parchment paper on top of the sauce or soup.

Those who freeze batches of sauce
we have an extra freezer so i freeze in whatever, but if i didn't i would use ziplocks. lay them flat to freeze and once they are frozen you can stand them up. i know you said space isn't an issue but this way you don't run into an issue down the road.

Re: Those who freeze batches of sauce
I stay away from BPA plastic or any plastic that I'm not sure of - so I don't reuse the chinese or other take-out containers.
I just use my BPA free glass or rubbermaid tupperware. Nothing specific for sauce.
I recommend freezing in different size batches. For example, freeze enough for pasta for 1, 2, pasta for 4, etc.
There may be a time you just want to defrost a smaller amount to put on one homemade pizza and another time you want to make a whole meal out of it, for example.

Re: Those who freeze batches of sauce
Thanks, everyone! I didn't realize Glad made freezer-specific containers.
