Those who get Mulch delivered (not bags!)... come in!

I have too many GIGANTICS beds and I just can't buy bags. They are $4 each and they cover NOTHING.

I have this weeding nightmare. I just can't keep doing this. So I need to go back to mulching (THICK layer).

I am in Eastern Nassau.

Who do you use?
How much is it?
Is it cheaper than bags?
How much do you order?

We bouhgt 3 yards and paid 125 dollars for black mulch.. No delivery charge.
It was a lot of mulch! We live out in suffolk though... call your local nurseries.

WHO: Power Crush - Kings Park, Old Northport Road

WHAT & COST: Black mulch $12 a yard, regular mulch (no dye) $8-10 (don't recall exact price). There is a delivery fee, but we pick up our own with a trailer, so I don't know the exact fee (it's usually around $70-100 for a delivery fee.)

HOW MUCH: We get about 60 yards every year.


"Are the bags cheaper?" It all depends on how much you need and the delivery charge.

If you don't want anything fancy, a lot of the tree companies will deliver for free - you usually have to take a decent amount though.

It saves them on the disposal

You can check Craigslist too for free mulch delivered.
