Those who stayed off site at Walt Disney
Where did you stay and did they have a shuttle from the airport?

We've stayed at a couple of Days Inns and a couple of Ramada Inns....all in Kissimmee and none of them had airport shuttles.

I don't think very many have airport shuttles. You could use a towncar service. Some will do a 15 minute grocery store stop on the way to the hotel also. Let me know if you want the name of a few. But, doing that option, you are at the mercy of the hotel's shuttle service to/from the parks (which I hear isn't always so great).
You could also rent a car. www.Mousesavers.com has some discount codes. We're going in a couple of weeks and I was able to get a rental for $10 a day.

I've stayed at the Gaylord Palms and Downtown Hilton. We stayed off property due to my DH's work conference. No shuttles from the airport to my knowledge.
They both had shuttles to the parks. We had rental car and only used the shuttle from the Hilton. We had no problems with the shuttles to the parks from the Hilton.

I wanted to add that we've always rented a car so we weren't at the mercy of the shuttles to/from the parks and so we could go grocery shopping and go to restaurants off disney property.

We are going in October and staying at the Sheridan Vistana Resort...I have heard wonderful things about it both on here and otherwise ! I'm not sure if they have a shuttle to the airport because we are "probably" renting a car ..

we stayed at the Radisson...it was perfect! They do have a shuttle to the parks (not sure about airport) but we had rented a car, it was easier to have one.

Anything on International Drive has frequent shuttle service. We stayed at the Hilton and it was great. Another time we stayed at a Days Inn that was futher off site and we rented a car.

Crashing...
DH and I stayed at the Sheraton Vistana and it was so great. Def a great place for kids. They have a few pools, arcade I think, walking distance to Walgreens just in case you need something, shuttle to Disney, etc. The apartment we had was beautiful.

Thanks everyone. I think we may end up at the vistana and a rental car is probably a must as they only run the shuttles in the morning and evening so it might be safer with a 3 year old to have a car on hand. I will check mouse savers for discount car companies.
