Walt Disney World attire & a few other q's

I have a few questions in regards to what I wear when I go to WDW. I do not have a lot of money to spend..

I assume I will mainly be wearing shorts/capris and t-shirts.. so my questions are...

1. do I need to bring any "dressy clothes"
2. do most pple wear sneakers to the pakrs for comfort? I HATE how sneakers look with shorts or capris but I might hafta do it, does any1 where sandals, like comfy thick velcro sandals.. (gosh im sucha dork) I wouldnt wear flip flops I imagine they will fly off during rides and my feet will hurt but any other shoe recommendations?
3. I plan on getting some kind of tiny book bag or fanny pack ( as u can tell my fashion sense will be zero on this trip lol) what should i always carry with me to the parks?? anything i wont think of? i wanna travel lite each day but wanna be prepared in the parks..

any other helpful hints or tips? thanks!!

If you plan on staying at the Disney parks, you dont really need to dress up. Some of the hotels though have dinners that you may want to get something a little nicer for. Wear very comfortabe sneakers or sandals. It is very hot this time of year so you want to be comfortable.

This time of year you need to wear tank tops and shorts. I hate wearing sneakers too but you do a lot of walking and it is better to be comfortable.

Unless you make reservations at some of the better resort restaurants (like at the Grand Floridian) you don't need to dress up for dinner. If you go to the Luau at the Polynesian you might want to wear something festive.

Have fun!

as far as number 3 i would carry chapstick, sunblock, sunglasses, camera, and a bottle of water. if you can buy water somewhere outside the park i highly recommend. it's expensive in the park and this time of year you'll need it. other things to consider putting in the bag- hairband, hat and snacks.

i think the others covered clothing pretty well, but i just wanted to add that when i went last year i wore flops and had no problems.

I hate the look of sneakers too, but let me tell you your feet will KILL you if you dont wear them! heck, even if you do wear them, your feet will kill you! LOLOL... also, DH and I always bring a small backpack... we switch on and off throughout the day... its easy cause you can put whatever you want in it, and it just sits on your back so you dont really notice too much.

Just got back from Disney HM on Monday.....I wore sneakers but still got insane blisters...you cannot imagine how much you walk.

I used one of those Le Sport Sac bags to lug everything around...got it at BLoomindales...I carried around our maps....my wallet....and Disney book

Other tips...eat lunch early like 11:30-12...after that the places were insane. If a restaurant requires reservations or even suggests them MAKE them ASAP...you will be waiting a while if you don't make them.

Also....the parks are the most crowded early in the day and then thin out in the afternoon....many people go back to their hotels around 2-4 to go in the pool. We did it the reverse because the pools got really crowded...did the pool early in the day and then headed out the park around 4-5 when it was less crowded and less hot.
