Those with a salt generated pool..question
I went on a playdate with my DS at someones house and they had a salt pool. She said they the only thing they don't put in is shock/cholrine but they still have to put in soda ash, alkanity up/down and hardness if you need it. DO you guys need to add that stuff too or do you think it could the water we have in NJ?

Re: Those with a salt generated pool..question
yes, you still need to check the ph and add chemicals to keep everything in check but not as much as a clorine pool

Re: Those with a salt generated pool..question
my FH said that you absolutely have to add the balancing chemicals such as: ph, alkalinity, calcuim hardness...the salt is designed to act as a sanitizing agent so that chlorine is not needed..the other chemicals will keep the water in chemical balance..low ph and alk levels can cause skin irritation, burning eyes, and in severe cases can cause the enamel on teeth to erode.
