Re: Those with more than one and had a V delivery 1st time

Both Vaginal - first one was induced with an epidural and pushed on and off for about 2 1/2 hours.

Second one - no pain meds and DS arrived in just under 3 pushes - Woo hooooooo...so much easier the second time around for me anyway.

The only advice I can give is the second you feel a contraction, head right to the hospital! They made me take an entire bag of IV fluids before they would give me the epidural. I was almost 9cm when I finally got it. They tried to convince me to skip it, but I had been in a lot of pain for like 2 hours, so they culdn't deny me since I''d been asking for the epi all along.

sounds like my 2nd labor, the doctor was literally standing squeezing the IV fluids into me so I could finally get the epidural... once I got the epidural I had my son within 20-30 minutes, what a waste of epidural Chat Icon

Both vaginal....however with 2nd one he came so fast and there was no time for epidural

this is what I'm terrified about..DD came in a total of 2.5 hours, thats including 20 minutes of pushing, she was my first, we're terrified that DH is going to have to deliver the next one in the carChat Icon

that reminds me of an episode of Baby Story I saw yesterday (I think??? I am sleep deprived Chat Icon )... her water broke in the car and within minutes she was screaming I have to push Chat Icon they got a cop to escort them to the hospital lol they made it! Chat Icon

Re: Those with more than one and had a V delivery 1st time

i have a v delivery both times...

dd#1 was born in 5 1/2 hrs and i was 7 cms when i got to the hospital

dd#2 was literally born 30 mins from when we left the house, so literally 15 mins (b/c we hit every light there!!!) into the hospital...it was insane but the best and easiest brith ever - the joke dh and i have was that i sneezed and poof, a Chat Icon! he was trying to fill out paperwork in admissions and they kept calling down to get him, poor guy was so freaked out something was wrong and i was so freaked out that they were telling me we were ready and he wasn't there!! (only me i tell you!!Chat Icon )

Re: Those with more than one and had a V delivery 1st time

both v deliveries.

BUT- my first was actually shorter and less complicated. 1st was completely textbook labor and delivery. went into labor 2 days before due date, had her the day before my due date. from the 1st tiniest contraction until the time she was in my arms was about 16 hours. But, from the painful contractions until she was in my arms was not long at all--maybe 5 hours, and only 2-3 hours of the really bad contractions. My water broke on its own when I was about 4cm. COntractions got bad about 2 hours after that. I pushed for 10 minutes--very easy pushing.

my second i went into labor right after having my membranes stripped. was a week early, but my fluid was getting low and they were thinking they might have to induce me in the next few days. My labor started with the super painful contractions every 2-5 minutes and went on that way for about 15-16 hours and I never progressed past 3.5 cm and 90% effaced. But, I think it was the doc's fault for not being more proactive. A new doc came in, said I was closer to 4.5 cm, broke my water, started pitocin, gave me a spinal. about an hour and a half after he broke my water, my daughter was in my arms. 6 minutes of easy pushing.

My firstborn was a vbirth. My second and third were c-sections. They were both breech babies.
