Thread pulling

Unless it has gotten WAY out of hand and LIF pulls it, how come the OP is the only one able to ask to pull a thread? Chat Icon

Re: Thread pulling

Is this true? Can the OP be the only one who can request for a thread to be pulled?

Re: Thread pulling

I think anyone who takes offense can ask for it be pulled.
Perhaps I am wrong though

No, I think that's true. There have been numerous times when threads were pulled because people called attention to LIW/LIF to the drama. Not because the OP asked for it.

I know anyone is free to ask, but for some reason it is usually the OP that seems to get results. i was just wondering why- is it a policy?

I think that the way it goes is that if the OP requests that it be pulled, it gets pulled, no questions asked. However, I believe anyone can request and whether or not it gets pulled is up to the great and mystical Oz.

Re: Thread pulling

I seem to recall a thread on LIW that had sections pulled at the request of a person who was not the OP, and the posts pulled were from random people (me included) as well as the person who made the request.

Yup, he felt it was getting out of hand so he pulled it. NO requests needed.

From experience, no doesn't only have to be the original poster. Anyone can bring a thread to the attention of the Big Thread Puller in the sky.
