Re: Thrift Store Shoppers
I was thinking of checking out the Good Will store in the Elwood area. I guess it is East Northport where that is. I haven't gone to a thrift store in a very long time b/c I have a tough time with my allergies in those stores sometimes. Does anyone else get that? I guess it is all the different places where the items come from, and dust.

I can totally see how that might happen..I dont suffer from allergies really so I havent had an issue...
I try and stop by that one whenever im in the area...the last time I was there they had a sign on the door stating that they were no longer accepting baby items of any kind. Which kind of stinks b/c you could always find brand new stuff with tags on it there!!!!

I guess toys take up a lot of room but I wonder why they cannot accept baby clothes?

I think they do still accept it b/c honestly when you drop off stuff they dont ask "what's in the bag"..but I think they just prefer to not have it any more...They used to have a lot of stuff and now they dont...Grrrrrrr...they actually need to get rid of a lot of stuff that has been there FOREVER!!!!!!! Noone is going to buy that 80s wedding gown for $50...mark it down to $10 bucks and maybe they might have a bite!

Re: Thrift Store Shoppers
It depends what I'm looking for. I used to get endtables and such at Selden thrift. I got a diaper changing table from the goodwill in Patchogue for only $15 and we sanded and painted it and got a new pad and it looks great!

I go to Selden Thrift. I stop in that Goodwill in Centereach once in a while, but I find it overpriced and full of stuff that Target clearanced out and it costs more there than it did at Target on clearance

Re: Thrift Store Shoppers
we shop for furniture at the Salvation Army in Hempstead. And there's a children's thrift store I've been too in Maspeth in Queens for some great toy deals.

Selden Thrift is also on Middle Country Road if you go East from Salvation Army. It's across from Walgreens before North Ocean Avenue on the right. I always find cute baby clothes there for Emma.
