Throwing Up Question
Okay we had our first throwing up incdent last night and was wondering how worried i should be. My husband put Jack down to sleep around 9:30 and then went to sleep himself. Jack was fine before that. I go up at 10:30 to check on them and Jack is wide awake, on his back laying in a whole lot of throw up. I pick him up, change him, change the sheets and we put him back down. He then proceeds to throw up again all over himself. So we do it all again and he starts dry heaving. This went on about 20-30 minutes and then he went to bed. The poor guy. He woke up this morning and seemed fine. Drank his bottle and all.
Has this ever happened to your DC? Could it be something he ate? It seems so odd to me. He has no fever and is happy as can be.
Thanks!

Re: Throwing Up Question
Maybe he ate too much? DD used to do that when she ate too much and her little belly couldn't handle it. There were no other symptoms besides dirty wet sheets and clothes for about a 1/2 hour.

Re: Throwing Up Question
this has happened before to my son but he was 2 when it happened. I chucked it up to something he ate because he was fine the next day as well. As long as he eats and is fine today I wouldntworry about it.

Re: Throwing Up Question
This happened to me yesterday. My son threw up in his car seat (twice) He was fine afterwards and is fine today so I am not worried about it. Must have been something he ate or that fact that he ate like a pig on Easter.

Re: Throwing Up Question
Noah used to do this when teething. Throw up loads and then be absolutely fine. Then the next morning he would have a tooth pop through. This hasn't happened lately (thank goodness because he has 6 teeth coming through right now) but it did happen maybe 4/5 times

Re: Throwing Up Question
Thanks all. My babysitter just called and said Jack threw up and dry heaved again so i called the pediatrician. She said their is a virus going around the past two weeks exactly what i am describing about Jack. She said to start giving him pedolyte today - 1 ounce every 1/2 hour...if he does not hold it down i have to bring him in. When i mentioned he has a twin, she told me to get ready for it to most probably happen to Kevin.

Re: Throwing Up Question
This butg hit Christopher hard a few months ago, and told us the same thing...have him drink the unflavored pedialyte every hour, and no food or formula, and watch his diapers to make sure he is urinating. We slowly did formula the next day into each bottle till I knew he was able to keep it down. Hope he feels better soon

I am sure Kevin will get it too. Once one of mine get sick the second one is sick within a day or so.
there is a stomach bug going around and one of my boys would be fine for 24 hours and then throw up again. It stinks, hopefully it will be short lived for you guys!

Re: Throwing Up Question
Hope this virus is a quick one for you.
One thing I found helpful is to use a towel if you're walking around with them. They rarely throw up enough to soak a towel & it's just enough time to get them by a toilet.
