Tiger attack - cant even believe this
Granted they didnt know the tiger would get out but what is wrong with people?

yes, they are bad people for taunting a tiger, but that kid didn't deserve to die.
This:
the tiger leaped or climbed out of the enclosure, which had a wall 4 feet shorter than the recommended minimum
baffles me- why would regulations be "recommended" and not "mandated"?
The zoo is still to blame.

We have had this story in Cali since about 3 days after the attack. !
That Tiger should haven't been able to jump out so easily. I'm sure these weren't the only kids to taunt an animal at a Zoo 
It's a shame all the way around

I agree the was should have been higher. So the zoo is at fault for that one. However, if that kid wasn't dangling his legs over the side and taunting the tiger, then this wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Did the tiger really need to be killed? Why couldn't they have tranquilized him? That animal died because of someone's stupidity.

It's ultimately the zoos fault.
but odds are had they not caught the tigers attention, they wouldn't have been mauled.
it's a WILD animal. with claws and teeth and shyt. it wants to eat you.
it was only b/c of a (n albiet false) sense of security that those guys were messing with that tiger.
well, tiger don't play that.
sad all around.
I hope the zoo gets the dung sued out of them. no matter what, the kid didn't deserve to die, and the tiger didn't either. the zoo could have prevented both.

Exactly. You can take the animal out of the wild but you can NEVER take the wild out of the animal. So sad.

These are not kids.
They're 24, 19 and 17 and they got drunk and stoned -- on Christmas Day -- and went to the zoo and climbed on the railing and yelled and waved at the tiger. Who does that??? Who climbs on the railing at a zoo??? What did they think would happen? Do you think they considered the safety of the other zoo visitors?
