Tile Question
We just got a new house and we're trying to fix up the kitchen w/o going broke. The backsplash has old plastic tile that is pretty ugly. Is there some sort of paint (like a high gloss) that I could use on it to make it look a little bit better?
(Removing the tile is not an option. It pulls the sheetrock off.)

Re: Tile Question
The key to that would be in the primer.
I can't remember the name of it but if you go to a good paint store, Aboff's, Janovic and tell them your situation I know there is a primer out there for glossy surfaces. Bascially it leaves a slightly roughed up surface so the paint can stick better.
Be careful with high gloss paint. It's not easy to handle, you basically have to put it on with one brush stroke because it shows the brush strokes so easily. It will dry and you will see brush strokes.
