Time to decide, where in Italy?

Well I can finally book the hotels.

We are arriving in Milan on the 28 of April. I figured we could stay until the 30th.

then leave to Venice, stay there for three days, then leave to florence and stay four days.

then finally stay at Positano and capri for the last week and leave on the 11 to rome and we leave on the 12 back home.

how does it sounds?

any other suggestions?

TIA

How about Lake Como? I believe it's about an hour outside of Milan. I went there back in 2003 for 3 days before heading to Venice, Florence and Rome.

I thought Lake Como was so nice and peaceful since there were not as many tourists as the other places we visited in Italy but it may be a little bit more popular now.

Have a great time!

How many days are you in Rome? I think I understand it to be 1 day. If so you should spend a little more time in Rome if possible, IMO.

Re: Time to decide, where in Italy?

I wanted to split three days in Positano and two days in Capri.

this is my first time and we are transporting ourselves through train.

maybe I'm being too ambitious.

We arrive on April 28 and leave on May 12.

Re: Time to decide, where in Italy?

Ah ok, I got it now, sorry I was a little confused.

This is how I would do it. I have never been to Positano or Florence, so I dont know about them, but I would do this:

I would do two days in Positano instead of 3 and 3 days in Florence instead of 4. That way you can spend 3 days in Rome. It would be a fair balance, IMO.

2 days in Capri would be some nice downtime to relax and unwind, but keep in mind that it takes about 3 hours to get from Capri to Rome (boat and train, from what I remember).

I think you shouldnt skimp on Rome. There is tons to see and 3 days is a good amount of time.
