Timed Intercourse & Gender (with poll)
Did you use the Shettles method of timed intercourse to determine the gender of your baby?

Not intentionally but it worked that way for both kids.
The first time, we BD the day before I O'd and I had a boy.
The second time, we BD the day before I thought I was going to O, but I O'd a day late - so 2 days between BD and O. I had a girl.

Also not intentionally here either but I was using OPKs and tracking my cycles for months with my first. I BD'd before and after my O date and on my O date and I had a boy.
Similarly with this baby I tracked and used OPKs. We only BDd on 1 day of my fertile days and it turned out to be 2 days before O. Two days before O is kind of grey area for gender but in my case I am pg with a girl this time. 2 days before O is the latest you should BD if you're trying for a girl.

I bought the book, but didn't go crazy with all the charts and taking temps. I just used OPK for a few months to figure out when I was OV. I then followed all the other suggestions the book said about having a girl.
Well DS #2 will be born in March, so it didn't work for us.

I O'd 2-3 days before we BDed with both kids and it resulted in both genders (I didn't purposely do it though, just how it turned out). My close friend also BDed 2-3 days before she O'd (was convinced she was having a girl as she has 2 boys already) and just found out she was having another boy.
I think other things may have contributed to gender (although I didn't know it at the time I conceived with both DC). with my DS I drank grapefruit juice and green tea . With my DD, My DH was on magnesium and while I was pregnant I read that some people use it as a supplement when TTC a girl
