This a great tip-I learned this after my friends vacation was cancelled due to her getting sick-It was awful watching her trying to get her money back (she never did) so since then I always get travel insurance

See I always thought travel insurance was just a big scam because it didn't cover the things you would really need it to cover like illness, death in family, etc. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it only covered very very little. Anyway, it's good to know that that's not the case. Thanks for posting this!
from my experience the airlines that our company sells will refund your ticket 100% if there was death in the family or serious illness but you have to have correct documentation (death certificate or discharge papers from the hospital)

I just want to say that DH & I were not able to go to our roriginal honemyoon, and we fought the insurance company for almost 2 years & were never re-imbursed.

I am sorry to hear you had that issue. CSA and Travelguard are wonderful. Dont let that bad experience damper your feelings on insurance. It's a great thing to have. If you have any questions let me know

We've always gotten it for the big,expensive vacations (HM, Mexico, etc.) I can't imagine not paying a little more money and risking losing thousands of dollars.

i would always get it no matter what, cause like you said you never know. keith would get ****** at me but i really did not care. no matter how big or small of a vacation we where going on i always got it. thankfully we never had to use it
