tip the UPS guy? how much?
we have so many boxes coming next few days, today we had 7 , including 2 huge ones (one TV and one table) he tried to deliver once , I was picking up DD, so he came back later and delivered everything, now tomorrow and Monday we have bunch of boxes coming.
I never even thought of giving a tip or a holiday gift to an UPS delivery person, but now I feel bad not to. I feel like we should give him something.
So would it be ok to give him $10 or 20 in the envelope with a holiday card or should I give him a GC , or just leave it alone? My friend says it's their job and that's what they get paid for , but .....

Hmmm, I never even thought to tip the ups man, I order like 5 packages a year, never even know if it's the same guy but if you see him often then I suppose it's warranted. How do you know he would get it though and not the mailman?

I tip ours $25 - $35 ( depends on how I was with deliveries during the year) during the holiday season..he is such a nice guy - my kids go nuts when he arrives, calling him by name, telling him their stories

i will probably give my UPS guy $20. he is really nice and he knows the kids nap around the time he comes so he never rings the bell and knocks gently. its so cute! LOL
i got DD a kitchen for her bday and he came to the door without it and waited to make sure she wasn't there so it wouldn't ruin the surprise.

He really is so nice! He even bought the kitchen around to the back door so I could put it right into the basement without her seeing it.

I started giving about 20. Last year was 30. This year will be close to 50 probably. I ordered A LOT online and it's a lot of big boxes. He is SO SWEET. Yesterday we got a package with the picture of what it was on the front and it was for my DD. He knocked and told me to come outside so she wouldnt see it. He's just really nice and works SO hard!

Same for us. Our UPS guy is great! We've had him for years. He has always been nice enough to 'hide' our packages out of view if we're not home and sometimes he has even dropped stuff off at my ILs (they live around the block) if something needed to be signed for.

I would tip the UPS guy for the hoildays. But I don't really use UPS that much all year round. At my job UPS comes every day so my company gives them a gift..not sure how much though..sorry!
I would give the UPS guy a GC..maybe to restaurant..or one of those Amex GC.
Dh and I tip our mailman every year for the holidays..he is the reason why we have our beautiful home!!!!!

My UPS guy was like this too. Loved it!!! It's like we had a "system." And if he came early and DS and I were on our street walking, he'd always wave and honk the horn for my DS.
I was all ready to give him a holiday gift bc we get soooooo many packages, 1 almost every day and now they've changed my UPS guy! I don't know what happened. This new person just runs up and rings the bell (I almost died today bc I got DS to nap and that hadn't happened in a week!)
Not sure what happened or how I can get a giftcard to my old UPS guy.

ups is here every day. but i have yet to see them. who ever it is rings the bell & by the time i reach the door, he's gone. today, he didn't even ring the bell, just left the package.

I could be because for the holidays there are so many packages they hire drivers helpers to help deliver the packages and they split up the routes. My DH has been hired as a drivers helper this year.

See I work FT and when i come home all the boxes are in front of my door, but how do I know who delivered it? Fedex? UPS? USPS? etc...

I was thinking about that myself because we get A LOT of deliveries. But there is more than one guys, I would say at least 3. And a lot of times they leave the boxes by the door. So, I really don't know how to handle this...
