TMI - the story of my life
is anyone experiencing continual YI's?
here is the history - TMI but I would like to know if this is just me or common in pregnancy
so up until pregnancy, I never had a YI, never any issues with anything actually. At my first OB appt. they did all the normal tests and called me to tell me I had one (no symptoms). At 13 weeks, I was given a one-time application script. Since I didnt have any symptoms, I just assumed it worked. Two weeks later total YI flare I got the over the counter 3-day monistat and it worked
About 4 weeks later, something didnt feel right. Not nearly as bad as the first time but something just seemed wrong (if that makes sense). So, I got the 3-day monistat again and felt ALL better.
Now two months later, the same thing I dont have itching or burning but increased discharge (barf) and am uncomfortable. Is this just 3rd trimester or another possible YI? I dont get it. I've been eating tons of yogurt trying to prevent another one. Maybe they arent going away totally?
I will see my OB in 2 days and I'll discuss it then but I hate this feeling, not knowing if this is normal of if something is wrong.

Re: TMI - the story of my life
I have never had a YI, so I really wouldn't know, but I wanted to say that discharge is normal and I am sure that everyones amount is different. I have not had any discharge yet, but I started wearing a pantiliner just in case.
A woman in my building told me that she had A LOT of discharge that she even thought it was her water leaking, but it wasn't and she didn't have a YI. She just had a baby a week ago!

Re: TMI - the story of my life
I had them with my 1st pregnancy. Only had one other before that in my life. As soon as I got pg with DD, I constantly had one. I started eating a ton of yogurt and drinking cranberry juice and it got better. After the pregnancy I didn't get them anymore.
Pregnancy hormones do some funky things to your body. This time around I had recurring UTIs in the beginning.

Re: TMI - the story of my life
From what I have experienced, YI discharge is REALLY easy to notice, and increased icky yellow-white discharge (but not YI discharge) is common at this time of pregnancy.
I would definitely call your OB but don't worry.

Yes and you can count on having that until DS arrives
Trust me it looks EXACTLY like cottage cheese when you have a YI
ETA: And the fluorescence is probably a side effect of your prenatals

Re: TMI - the story of my life
Dehydration usually brings on the first sing of YI for me. So at the first sign, I start drinking water in gallons and eating yogurt like no tomorrow and it YI gets very far and completely clears up within a couple of days.
Not sure why it works, but it does for me.

Re: TMI - the story of my life
thanks everyone for all of the advice. i am beginning to think its not a YI (phew) ... i think its normal 3rd tri "stuff" going on and increased trips to the bathroom = increased wiping = increased irritation
ill still ask tomorrow to be sure!
