tmi breastfeeding boob?
i bf ds#1 for 13 months and although the beginning was a bit painful i never had anything like this.
ds #2 is 4 months old and for the last 2 weeks i've had this bad crack/wound in my nipple. i use the lanoilin cream and try to air it out when i can but it just gets re-injured every time my ds eats (every 3 hours). it is VERY painful when he 1st latches and even painful when he isn't eating. it's hot pink in color and a bit swollen too.
what do i do?
i don't have stabbing pains in my boobs, but can it be trush?
i have NO time to pump & ds refuses a bottle.

I had the same thing in the beginning with DD. It is prob due to a bad latch. Does the baby pull off you suddenly alot? Is there a tooth yet?

if it's not healing you're going to have to stop nursing on that boob for a day or two.
i got a bad crack on my nipple once. i only BFed DS on the other side for 2 days and that was all the time it took to heal enough so he could eat on that side again. i would try and find the time to pump as much as possible on the injured side until it heals.

I got a prescription for All Purpose Nipple Ointment because of some cracking and possible thrush. It worked wonders!!

same here, I had it for 4 weeks b/c I kept putting cream on it and letting her eat from that side. Once I stopped using creams and aired it out and just had her eat from one side and give her pumped milk from the other it eventually started to heal.

Re: tmi breastfeeding boob?
I had bleeding and cracked nipples (my left nip looks like its gonna be scarred from the chunk that was taken out almost 6 months ago). I saw a LC and she told me to put tea bags on em. Buy reg tea bags- not herbal or decaf and after each feeding run the bags under warm/hot water and place on your nips for 15mins- it worked within days!!
Good Luck
