I have to try something else bc capacity is the problem. . Try the Lena Large. That’s what I use bc my heavy days are pretty heavy.
Totally too much TMI but I would have to use multiple tampons at a time on really heavy days and wear a pad at night to prevent leaks. Is the Lena large bigger than the one I use? I thought they were all kinds the same size. . No, they all vary so much depending on brand and size. It’s all about finding the right fit and capacity for you. If you google menstual cup comparison chart you can see. Also, if your flow is that heavy you may not have a fit issue, you might just need to extort more frequently.

TMI but I have to share.....ladies
I just have trouble believing that you wouldn’t be able to feel it up there all day. The name Lena Large makes me think you practically have a coffee mug in there.
Can you really not feel it??

TMI but I have to share.....ladies
I use the blossom and I seriously love it. I got the small even though I have two kids bc I'm petite and have a pretty light period. I get up in the morning and don't even worry about it for an hour or two bc I'm lazy in the morning. My heaviest day I may empty it mid day but otherwise just before bed. There's no guessing what you need for the day, no filling the trash can, no buying anything, no worrying about leaking on your towel when you get out of the shower, etc. It's really so convenient.

You can sleep with it?? Ive stopped using tampons, they were causing me yeast infections. Not crazy about pads. But this is intriguing lol
I sometimes feel that tampons are not great for my vag either to be honest.
Tmi, but I realize now that they're probably not. The cup catches all the stuff you don't want and leaves the good stuff. It's not soaking up everything and drying you out like a tampon.

Goodness...I'm glad I don't need to think about this anymore
My daughter uses it though and tried convincing me to make the switch. She's very happy with it.

How did you decide on which to order? I'm kinda leaning towards trying it

OK, I'm sold. I have not been able to use tampons since my DD was born, even super+ leaks. I realized I will have it while we are at Disney next month and I really don't want to watch DH and DD in the pool while I sit there with my diaper, I mean pad.

How did you decide on which to order? I'm kinda leaning towards trying it There is no magic way to find the right one for you. I read a lot on them , their sizing and compared. Based on my flow, the fact that I’ve had two children and that I have a high cervix, and the rounded shape instead of the cone, I settled on the Lena cup. Also, bc of their 100% guarantee and their customer service is top notch. I tried the diva one first and i didn’t like its shape, and it didn’t seal well for me and the capacity wasn’t high enough. I’ve heard good things about the meLuna also. Also, looks for one that is BPA Free, Latex Free and is registered witht he FDA.

Ah, but going through the “change” seems to be difficult as well. I’ve just started and the night sweats suck, and it’s early days. I’ll take my period instead of going through this for the next couple of years.

love my cup! Was able to go to the zoo and spend the entire day there without having to worry about anything. There definitely is a learning curve, but once you get through that... it's not even messy at all. I've been using a cup for almost 15 years now, so maybe I've just gotten really good at using one, but no blood on my hands or anywhere. I will be teaching my DD to use one when the time comes. It's cheaper, and healthier.

LOL... this is true. Certainly don't want to do a DRY run! Ouch!!! However, you CAN attempt it when you don't have your period. Just be sure to use a *lot* of artificial lubrication. When I bought my first cup years ago (back then I had to buy it from the UK lol)... there were instructions for doing test runs before your period. This way, you weren't stressed and panicking during the real thing. Worked great - as I said, just make sure you use a lot of lube!

I do with no problem at all.
I would have no desire to do a dry run. I used a liner until a got the hang of it which was really the second month.

oh my goodness! What happened? It definitely should NOT be painful, at all. I barely feel it open, like i have to check to make sure it opened all the way, LOL. Maybe it was up WAY too high when you opened it or the cup was too long for you? There are also softer cups if you are more sensitive, the DivaCup is one of the harder (but still soft cups). Like Lena Brand, makes a Lena Sensitive, but the softer the silicone the tougher they are to just "pop" open once inserted.

Oh gosh... I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't! I was more commenting on the "dry" aspect of it. You wouldn't want to put *anything* up there if it's sahara dry, kwim? And if you practice with it at certain times during your cycle, you can be naturally more dry than at other times. I personally found it helpful to learn to insert and (more importantly to me!) remove the cup *before* I got my period. I personally felt like it would be less stressful doing it when there wasn't any chance for accidentally making my bathroom look like a scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. To do that, I followed the instructions provided and used lubrication. I was new, nervous, and didn't want to do anything to chance making it uncomfortable.
Cups are great, though... the fluid isn't really exposed to air, so there is really no risk for odor (which is great since you can safely leave the cup in place for 12 hours!) and it doesn't absorb anything, which is better for pH and balance of good bacteria.
