TMI question - for 12 mo plus mommies
I know this is wayyy tmi
DS is 14 mos and in his dirty diapers I can clearly see the food he has eaten - and i am not just talking about the color - like sometimes i can see little pieces of carrots or specs of spinach or tiny chunks of cheese or avocado. It's got me worried whether he is actually getting any nutrition from the food he is eating and, more importantly, if there is something wrong that he is not digesting his food. I know there is clearly an issue also that he is not chewing his food enough. But, I had asked the ped a while ago (when he was sick and threw up) about him not chewing it thouroughly and he said that was fine and normal since he doesn't have a full mouth of teeth. But, at that point I wasn't noticing it on the other end too - b/c he wasn't eating all solids (i.e. no purees) like he does now. Ok I know this is long but just not sure HOW abnormal this is - I am going to ask about it at his next well visit but not sure if it issomething that needs to be addressed immed?

Re: TMI question - for 12 mo plus mommies
My DS is 13 months..I see colors, but not usually what it is (sometimes I can). I do cut up his food pretty small still, and he IS a good chewer. Ask your ped if you are concerned, but if your DS is healthy and trhiving, he is pulling the nutrients he needs from the foods, so try not to worry too much.

IT'S NORMAL DD is having the same exact issue(14mo). I was so so scared . But my mom -raised 3 kids and my MIL also raised 3 kids and my sister who has 2 said it's very normal. I asked the ped anyway and he also assured me that there is nothing to worry about.
