TMI ? What color is your pee?

I get weekly pregnancy tips emailed to me. I just got one about hydration and its importance. I drink ALOT of water, even when i feel terrible i sip all day, and usually replace water for soda, tea, or whatever will settle my stomach. However my pee is still always very yellow, but thats only when PG.
Im curious, is everyone's urine very yellow- even if you are drinking lots?

mine isn't - but it could be from your prenatal vitamins.

Depends on the day, but usually yes, pretty yellow.

Yes mine is, but I know I'm also not drinking enough. I'm trying, but I just can't.

1 st pre-natals....neon greenish yellow
New vitamins - bright yellow

Except for first thing in the AM, mine is pretty clear. BUT I drink water non-stop - I have always been a really big water drinker.

Mine is very dark. But I am horrible with drinking water.

yup usually light yellow, it's always more yellow after I have my vitamins at night(1st thing in AM)

well, drinking 'a lot of water' is rather subjective.... lets talk volumes for a moment.

I noticed throughout my 1st trimester my pee was dark yellow and I was drinking about 3.5L a day.... (4L is approx a gallon). I started getting headaches and other symptoms, stared at my pee, and thought it COULD be due to dehydration even though I thought I was drinking 'a lot'. Being the hopeless scientist that I am, I started increasing my water consumption... between then and now (33.5 weeks), I have increased it to 5L a day (1 and 1/4 gallons).

taking for granted that pee color is usually an indication of dehydration, my pee became medium yellow (only mild dehydration) at 4-4.5L and only became a healthy color at 5L.

I should add that I added to my water consumption usually becuase I was being tortured by preggo symptoms (edema, ahces and pains, headaches) and the extra water cleared them up.

so it very well may be (especially if you're experiencing headaches, swelling...) that you think you're drinking enough, but you actually need to drink even more.....

I drink a lot of water throughout the day, but my pee is still neon yellow until around noon. It's the prenatal vitamins.

I just went to pee and checked, mine is a pale yellow. is that good or bad?

Urine is highly concentrated in the morning so it will be darker - which is why when we take HPT's, they tell us to use FMU - it gives us the most opportunities to get info. The more water you drink throughout the day, the lighter it should become. If it is still dark, you should probably be drinking more water and it it continues, I would call a doctor. It could be indicative of a nutritional deficiency.

If you are getting all your water in, it is likely your vitamins!

mine is only yellow if I dont drink enough! Otherwise pretty clear.

It really depends on the day and how much I drink. I find it that the prenatal vitamins makes it more colorful than ususal though.

If I drink a lot it is a very faint yellow. If I don't drink enough it is dark yellow.
