Re: To sum up my deleted post - cereal and babies
you forgot to add-
Be cautious of starting babies on solid food too soon. Starting solid foods too early can cause babies to develop food allergies.
This is because their intestinal tract and immune system are not yet fully developed; introducing solid foods at this time can be too much for them to handle.
Starting a baby on solid foods too soon, before four to six months, can also cause overfeeding, since they cannot yet offer you signals as to when they are full.
There is also the danger that a baby won't be able to chew or swallow correctly before this age

I just added that quote because someone said that tongue thrusting meant they werent ready...
A lot of the above I think is if you are whipping out a big a s s bowl of the stuff We would never do that - like I said, he literally had 3 teeny tastes from the tip of a spoon, and it was so liquidy it trickeled out of his mouth...
Not for nothing, but he was sooo cute when eating it - he really liked the taste, but then made a yuck face at the texture. It all really wound up on his chin.

Re: To sum up my deleted post - cereal and babies
I just think giving cereal so soon to get them to sleep through the night is not the answer...he neds to be ready for it. Is he satisfied with just formula?? These are other indicators that will tell you. He is only 2 months...he will still wake at night for feedings.

Yup. I know. DH wanted to try it. He had a teeny little bit. Scroll up and read my responses.....
This is why I delete my posts. It keeps getting answered over and over again.
No offense - this is not aimed at you. Its just that people ask me why I delete my posts, and its because I feel no one reads the threads all the way thru, and they keep answering after its just "done." KWIM?

LADIES - this issue is done, really - I just put it back up because people said it would be helpful for future moms...
the reason I commented was... it's not just this post though, you do this often with a topic...people want and try to give advice...if you decide a topic is "done" that's fine, but it defeats the purpose of the board IMO.
people like answering posts especially on this board, a lot of BTDT moms like to "pay it forward" and I know it helped me a lot and was the main reason I started posting on LIF in the first place. you don't have to agree OR read the posts once you decide you are finished
