today a rocky day for Mother Earth
another earthquake in Chile
an earthquake in Taiwan
and an eartquake off the coast of Sumatra
all about 6 on the richter scale.
apparently, our day will be about 1 microsecond shorter due to the force of the first chilean quake. it was so strong it moved the earth. 
what is going on!!!??

the pacific plate is moving around and letting off steam. scary stuff.
This is a good link for general information on earthquakes (from the US Geological Survey).
Also from USGS, you can sign up for real time notices about earthquakes when they happen in your area.

On ABC-7 when Chile had the 8.x earthquake --- they had a preview that the earthquake was so strong is knocked the earth off of its access/axes? (its friday and its been a long week).... anyway - then the story aired it was moved 3".
I'm not sure how they can measure 3" when you think about how large the earth is, but that preview really got me nervous. I don't think it was right.

Even the newly released scientific report on Dinosaur extinction is causing drama on Yahoo news comment section of the story!  So no, Drama is not just confined to LIF topics!
