Today is DH's b-day and I have no gift. Opinion needed
For the first time, I have no idea of what to get him. He wants a tatoo. I don't want him to get one. Anybody who has them, don't get offended. I just don't care for them for me, or for my DH. I have seen a lot on other people that are very nice, but I would just prefer he not have one.
Do I svck it up and let him get one, even though I really don't want him to? Or do I find something else to give him?

I can't imagine saying no if it was something he REALLY wanted and has wanted for a while.
Can you have a say about where he gets it?

I would probably find something else to give him.... In the end, he is a grown man and will get one if he really wants it...but if you are against it, I would encourage it by buying it for him.
DH and I are in the same situation...I want another one, but he REALLY doesn't want me to get it. I probably won't, b/c I know how he feels about it...but if he were to give me a GC to a tatoo place, then I would definitely get it done.

I agree-he can make his own decision but there is no need for me to allocate funding for it. I would pick a new gift.

I don't like tattoos either so I get where you're coming from. If you're stuck on a gift, then yes, I'd give him a gift cert for a well-researched, well-respected tattoo parlor. That way it's two gifts - the gift of the tattoo & the gift of understanding.
Plus if he's getting it anyway, I'd look at it as saving some money.
