Today's Growth Sono
I'm 38 weeks 3 days. Today she measured 8lbs 6 oz. The Dr. doing the sono said she's big but not alarmingly. That she is on the bigger side of average.
I see my Dr. on Monday and if she pushes for a c-section next week I'm going to refuse - I'll go do an NST or BPP every day if I have to but I want to wait until at least my due date to try to go natural. My Dr. does not like to deliver babies bigger than 7 or 8 lbs but she's going to if I can help it, as long as baby looks good, and she does.
The Dr. who did the sono made me feel so much better.

Oh thank god. Please fight for your rights as a patient. Your baby is FINE and NORMAL ... there is NO REASON why you cannot go natural. I am praying for you. I understand what you are facing --- DO NOT BACK DOWN

Re: Today's Growth Sono
I agree to push for your rights. In this day and age 7-8 pounds is not a big baby. My mom had 4 kids all natural starting at 8lbs 6oz and going up to 9lbs 13oz. Don't let the doctor bully you into somehting you don't want to do just to make her comfortable. Good luck

Re: Today's Growth Sono
I know that its b/c of my history BUT my doctor has no problem with me delivering a 9 or 10 pounder vaginally..No reason why you cant try and if the need arises then opt for the c.

Re: Today's Growth Sono
its ridiculous when they try to push a csection becuase they dont like to deliver babys over 8 lbs. they tried that with my sil and they were fighting in the delivery room. she was adamaent about going vaginally and the doctor kept saying c section. inthe end she won and was very happy. i almost got a c section becuase i had parcial placenta previa but it corrected itself. i also was told at my final sono the baby was a little over 8 lbs and i had a 9 lb 13 oz baby. you cant really go by the sonos becuse there can be a 20% error since they really cant gage correctly. im 5'3 and was able to push out an almost 10 lb baby. it took a little longer becuase of the size but if the doctor is giving you crap its probably because he wants an easy delivery for you but thats not for him to choose.
