Althogh I have a few aunts that look like bugs
ETA: I am from direct English descent & saying "ant" just did not happen in my house growing up

I say "ant," but I teach in the Bronx and the population is a mix of Hispanic and Black and I have only heard them say "Aunt."

I was going to say something similar. I say ant, but I think the difference in pronunciation is a cultural thing.

very similar to the Filipino way. we say "Tita" for aunt. DH's family is italian and its "Zia" or "Azi" depending on who we're talking to.
