I say "ant." Most of the children I work with who are from african-american or island backgrounds, say "ahntie," so I've started using that a lot at work.

I say Tia or Aunt.
I used to say Ant, but I stopped years and years ago because well, ant = bug.  I think I still might say Ant sometimes, especially if I'm around someone else who is saying Ant.

I think its a regional thing. People in NY seem to say aunt (as ant) and elsewhere as aunt (auhnt)
