Toddler Diarrhea experienced moms help!!!!
So Gavin has had it for more then 2 months by now and I am killing myself over this!
Everything I have heard/read says to increase protein and fat and limit fruit and no juice. I have also learned that it goes away practically on it's own.
So, my question is this. Should I be driving myself crazy with the yogurt, acidophilus, whole milk, fattier, protein-filled diet or just go it normally? Have any of your "tricks" helped in any way or is it just a time-related thing????
HELP!

Two months - how is that normal? I've never heard of this, poor Gavin! I think I'd be getting a second opinion to find out the cause

It can go on for a lot longer..... ...it's totally "normal" if that can be said. His stool was tested and everything, no parasites or virus, and he's completely unaffected by it, except for the nasty rash that has finally reared it's ugly head.
All 3 of the pediatricians in his office have said it and all my research online has concluded as well. It's a different type of diarrhea apparently.....regular BRAT diet doesn't really fix it.

Re: Toddler Diarrhea experienced moms help!!!!
DS has had diarhea for almost a month now, probably related to teething, but no other symptoms. Our ped said not to worry and told us to give a probiotic, we were giving biogaia, now giving florastor, my guess is that for an older child, he'd say give yogurt
oh also, we put rice in his bottles, it helps a ton! He still goes 3 times a day, but he's only 4m so I think that's normal for that age.

Re: Toddler Diarrhea experienced moms help!!!!
Gina, by no means am I a doctor but my brother/SIL went through this w/ my niece. She had diarrhea non-stop for months & finally after seeing a bunch of doctors/specialists found out she had a wheat allergy.
When they changed her diet it was almost an instant fix.
She then later outgrew the allergy by the time she was 3.

Re: Toddler Diarrhea experienced moms help!!!!
Clover had it for about 3 months. Changing her diet didn't help. We did give her water from cooking rice (binds temporarily) mixed with her soy milk. Mostly she had to outgrow it.
