Toddler Inside Upper Lip ?
I am home with Thomas today... he has an ear infection. We went to ped yesterday.
I noticed that it looked like there was something in between his front teeth. I tried to pull up his lip, and noticed that the skin/tissue inside his upper lip is actually connected to his gum and is in between his two front teeth.
I totally freaked out. I was ready to take him back to the ped. I never noticed this before.
I googled it and apparently it's quite normal. My stomach was in knots thinking about my poor baby having oral surgery!
I just noticed that the gap between his front teeth has been closing now that his canine teeth are coming in. Maybe that's why it's more noticable now.
Does anyone else's toddler have this??
Please put my mind to rest!!

It's called a frenum and it's totally normal anatomy in the mouth. The only time they would treat them is if they caused a speech or dental problem
