toddler party gft giving and receiving etiquette
Only a couple weeks new to the class, DD was invited to a classmates birthday party (they are both in the 2 1/2 year old program). I thought this was a nice gesture, I thought it would be fun for DD, wanted to meet other moms...so we attended.
We gave a present but never received a thank you card. Is this the norm these days?
UPDATE: so we got one...BUT...it only mentions one of the two gifts we gave ! we gave one "bigger one" and one "small one". of course the smaller one was mentioned (the $5 one), i really hope they don't think that was the only thing we gave and that i'm a total cheapskate

I rarely see thank you cards in kids cubbies after they attend a party so I guess so.

Unfortunately, yes. We have gotten thank you's to about half the parties we have attended.

Re: toddler party gft giving and receiving etiquette
i personally think a Thank you note should be given at any age... its the right thing to do IMO.
Now obviously a 2/3 yr old cannot write their own so I think its the parents responsibility to do so.

ITA! Even if there not hand written ones, they should at least let the person know they were thankful for the gift!

Re: toddler party gft giving and receiving etiquette
If I don't get them out right away I seem to loose them!!
For example for my youngest ds I was able to get them all out(I think) for his first b-day. My middle son I wrote them out, but I couldn't find my class address list and put them in a draw! Well I just found them and they were from last April!!! Now I feel sooooo crummy for not letting the parents know how much ds loved his gifts!!!

We have been to only a few kid's parties recently and the thank you was actually in the goody bag.
