Toddlers and diarrhea/stomach viruses
How often is it normal for a toddler to get diarrhea? I feel like we have just been getting slammed with stomach virus after stomach virus. It seems to be an infectious agent every time because at least one other family member will get it too. So I'm not thinking malabsorption disorder or allergy. Weight gain and growth are normal, demeanor is fine.
To clarify it's not necessarily diarrhea in terms of frequency... I mean 2-3 days worth of 2-3 yellowish loose bms per day, every 3-6 weeks since january!
We do go out a lot...children's museum, mommy and me, music class and now camp.
We ditched juice at one point and I noticed it was better.
Just curious what normal is. Every time I'm about to call the doc to inquire, it goes away for a few weeks.
Also, any thoughts on probiotics?
Tia! Eta - we have a cleaning service every week and get our carpets cleaned every 6 months.

Re: Toddlers and diarrhea/stomach viruses
Idk if this applies since you said that somebody else always gets it too, but my Dd went through something similar where she would go 3-4 times/day and it was extremely loose. She eats a ton of fruit (no juice), and veggies. I finally went to the Dr and he said that 6+ times is considered diarrhea, and that she might just have a fast metabolism and fruits & veggies aren't fully digested so they can cause the loose stools. She was acting fine, weight was normal, etc. This went on for about a month-2months w/ some days worse than others. It was never urgent (she was potty trained and could always make it to the potty). She had no stomach pain, either. Definitely wasnt a virus.
Google "toddler diarrhea" and see if it fits. It's apparently normal/common.
