What is up with the stomach viruses this year?

Maybe I haven't been hip to the stomach virus thing before having a baby (especially one in daycare) but before this year I had maybe one stomach virus every 3-4 years.

This year- I have had THREE so far!

I had a BAD one in November which miraculously only touched me.
Then right after Christmas we all got infected to varying degrees from a family member on Christmas Eve.

Now we are on the THIRD.

DD had it pretty mild- just threw up on Saturday and moved on.
I, on the other hand, not so lucky!
And now DH is on the brink of something.

Has this been a particularly virulent year for stomach viruses or was I just blissfully ignornant to it before having kids??

This has been a really bad year.

yeah my middle DD had one over the weekend....so not fun...
Luckily so far she hasn't passed it on to her sisters or me and DH.

DS and I both had a bad one in August.
Then the whole family got a relatively mild one right before Christmas. I am hoping we are done, but I know another is going around now.

My 4 month old DD has had it for 8 days now

My DH also got it this weekend.

Thankfully I have avoided it so far, but I am a teacher and lots of things just skip by me because my immune system has had to go into overdrive being around sick kids constantly.

But I would take it in 2 seconds instead of my DD
