TomKat baby legit? From Newsday
TomKat baby legit? By Mina Hochberg amNewYork Arts & Entertainment Editor
July 11, 2006
A delayed birth certificate signature, an MIA nurse -- what does it all mean? Let the conspiracy theories begin.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes took an awfully long time making sure that little Suri Cruise was legally ushered into the world.
A copy of baby Suri's birth certificate has surfaced on TMZ.com, revealing that Cruise and Holmes didn't file the certificate until May 8 -- 20 days after Suri's birth on April 18.
St. John's Hospital policy states that birth certificates must be filed within 10 days of birth, but a hospital official told TMZ that neither Cruise, Holmes or a representative showed up to certify the document until May 4.
The signature of their representative, who signed as a "friend," was illegible. The hospital source said the main reason TomKat finally got around to expediting the birth certificate was because Suri needed one in order to get her passport.
Furthermore, the "Attendant or Certifier" blank on the certificate is normally signed by the doctor, the hospital rep told TMZ.
But in this case, it was a nurse who was not in the room when Suri was delivered and did not actually see Suri.

Celebrity Baby Blog has something on it today too.
Is it becoming fishier and fishier because it IS fishy, or because the media's making it so? That's my question.

That's what I was thinking...and I didn't know T.Cruise was his real name, or that he was born in NY...

I believe he legally changed his and dropped the "Mapother" from his name. (I spent WAY too much time reading Bop and can't believe all the crap I remember)
I don't know if she's legally changed her name, since "Katie" is not the name of a "child bearing woman" according to Tommy. But "Katherine" sounds like a pretty grown up name to me...

He's actually from Syracuse -- I remember reading something about how Suri Cruise sounds a little like that.

Re: TomKat baby legit? From Newsday
If they are truly hiding this child, how long can they hide it?
If they are faking this child, could he (they) be charged with fraud of any kind? Lawyers any thoughts?

Re: TomKat baby legit? From Newsday
I know someone else wrote this, but maybe the baby was born with some issues and she needed a passport in order to get treatment outside the U.S.

Re: TomKat baby legit? From Newsday
yahoo is now reporting that even with his children with Nicole Kidman, the media didn't get a pic until the youngest was 1+. maybe it is just a scientology thing!

Re: TomKat baby legit? From Newsday
I didn't know they were 16 years apart in age! (Katie and Tom). he's ALMOST old enough to be her Dad and she looks like she's 20, not almost 30.
ETA: if this baby does in fact exist, I give them kudos for being able to hide her from the media this long

Re: TomKat baby legit? From Newsday
I think she was not preggers and was faking it while they were going through and adoption process to adopt a baby. And maybe they jumped the gun with the "delivery" thinking they were in the clear and there was a delay in the adoption.
Just a thought... but they are bizzaro... so who the heck knows...
