Tonight is night #1 of Troy in his Big Boy bed!!!
And I'm nervous as H-E-L-L! He's been in bed since 7:30. His bed converts to a toddler bed, with two small panels at each end.
We tested it out for his afternoon nap, which did NOT go too well. He moved the blanket and small gym mat we had put in front of the bed in case he fell out. He went to the bookshelf and took two little books back to his bed. He walked around a bit. We have a video monitor so I was able to "track" him, but there were times he was out of sight!
After nap time (he slept for maybe 30 min) DH and I made a few modifications-- we took out the bookcase and we put one of our comforters (king size) folded up outside the bed.
So, he's been in bed for 2 1/2 hours and guess what---he's now sleeping on the comforter on the floor!
Hey, I'm not complaining, at least he's asleep!!

He's in a big boy bed already? Wow. I'm keeping Jack locked in his crib for as long as I can
Good luck!

Re: Tonight is night #1 of Troy in his Big Boy bed!!!
We transitioned for a couple reasons:
1-He will be going to daycare w/i the next few weeks and most likely going into the toddler room, in which they sleep on cots-wanted to get him slightly adjusted to that.
2-We're going to be TTCing (in a few months) and wanted to start that transition now. It's a decision DH and I made together.
He did great last night. He did "roll" off onto the comforter- but I put him back on there before we went to bed. This morning he woke up and stayed on the bed for a good 15 min-I was going in the get him JUST as he stepped off the bed!
He's SUPPOSED to be napping now, but he keeps getting off the bed. Not sure how we'll conquer this challenge.
