Totally Overwhelmed!
We just bought a DSLR and my poor kid isn't going to have any pictures of herself until she graduates college, because that's when I think I may have this thing figured out!

Re: Totally Overwhelmed!
Which one did you get? It's really not that bad - I just started by taking lots of pics on auto and I learned one other setting that I love (focused subject and blurry background) and went from there!!!

We just got the Canon Rebel Xsi... I've been playing around with it. But there's SO much to learn!

I have that one, got it last year when I was pregnant and still use it on auto..I play around with it sometimes when I can to figure out which modes I need to use when, but once I figure it out I forget it the next time

Re: Totally Overwhelmed!
I have the Rebel T1i.
Here are 2 settings I love.
If you have a CA (creative auto) setting on the top round setting dial, go to that.
You can shoot black and white and do the focused subject with blurry background with that setting. I am at work now, but when I go home I can look at my camera to tell you exactly what to flip the settings to.
I read like 2 pages of the manual, and that is what I figured out.
Don't ask me what ISO or aperature mean.
eta: okay, I don't think your model has the creative auto setting. so forget everything I just said! Ughhhh sorry.
