Re: Tough Day

I think we are all going through the same thing! Emily falls esleep after I feed her, and I keep her in my arms for at least 45 minutes just to be "safe." Then I put her down and she wakes up again! She's been pooping up a storm! it seems like every feeding she has at least one and often two poopie diapers, and she does not want that on her for very long, so I'm changing her like crazy! Before you know it she wants to eat again and I don't have any time to sleep, shower, eat, pump, none of that!

However at night I am letting her sleep until she wakes up and we're averaging about 4 hrs through feedings, so I am hoping she's going to start getting a schedule down. It's just hard because I want to hold her and cuddle her so she can sleep, but I also have a ton of things I need to get done, especially PUMP!!!

Re: Tough Day

I HIGHLY recommend the Miracle Blanket. I'm definately not saying Logan is an angel by any stretch of the imaginationChat Icon(he does his share of crying during the day) but his nights are pretty good and as long as I can get my sleep at night the days are easier to handle. It's not easy to get him in it (his stiffens up his arms when he's awake). Our usual routine is to feed him around 9, change him, feed him, change himChat Icon and then he falls asleep on me....once he's asleep (usually only takes a few minutes) we put him in the miracle blanket and he's out for at least 5 hours sometimes we even get 6 or 7 out of him. Then he goes back down. Unfortunately for me, his internal clock is now set to wake between 6:30-7:30am no matter what time he got up for his last feeding (even if it was just an hour ago) and his is very ready to come out of the miracle blanket by that time(trying everything he can to get out)Chat Icon Chat Icon

The thing is, he is VERY figgity...if he wasn't in the miracle blanket he would NEVER sleep that long. He hates sleeping on his back and he constantly gets startled and wakes himself up. I don't use the blanket for naps....he usually just falls asleep in the swing or he'll fall asleep on me and I put him in the snuggle me (I think that's what it's called) on my bed and let him sleep on his stomach as long as I can keep an eye on him. Luckily his neck muscles are really strong so he doesn't have a problem moving it from side to side.

It's definately not easy, and often very trying on your patience but hopefully this will pass. I'm often afraid of leaving the house too b/c who knows when he will start screamingChat Icon

Edited to say: The miracle blanket is sooooooooooo much better than the swaddle me. The swaddle me the baby can bust right out of, the miracle blanket is not so easy to get out of....(although I think my little one may be the next HoudiniChat Icon Chat Icon )

We tend to go 3 hours but last night she did 2 hours. Sometimes she'll give me a 4 hours stretch.
I pray to god I have a good day tomorrow. We deserve it.
