IMO, the professor is partially at fault as he chose to leave the students unattended. i think it was unprofessional of him to do so and to send this email to the class.

Just remember Nic, it's all hearsay because he was out of the room, so no matter what ANYONE says, it will be hard to prove anyhting. It sounds as if the professor is trying to cover his OWN azz.

very tough situatiom. I agree leave judgement his grade out and keep it general. Damm that stinks and this professor really put people in a tough spot. Good luck let us know what happens.

I received your email and apologize for not responding sooner.
It is unfortunate that this situation occurred especially from those aspiring to be educators. I sincerely hope that those involved will admit to the cheating and a resolution will soon be made.

This is perfect. This way, Rich responded, but doesn't affiliate himself with it at all. Regardless of what he knows, I don't think he should tell anyone he knows anything. How can they prove otherwise?
