Tracking on mfp and fat?
I have been tracking on MFP - I don't really have much to lose (I always want to lose 5 pounds but don't really need to).
I have 1200 calories to eat/day and my macros are 40 - 35 - 25 c-p-f. The problem is that I keep going over my fat amount. I like to eat a clean diet so I love nuts, avocados, salmon etc. which are really good for you but high in fat. I am uncertain on how to reconcile the the two concepts as I feel that not all fat is created equal.
I do not like to eat stuff that is synthetically low in fat.
For instance, all I have eaten today is some organic oatmeal/ multigrain with 1/2 cup almond milk. I was going to have some nuts as a snack (for protein) and if it do I am pretty much at half of my fat for the day and it is still morning!
Any advice?

Re: Tracking on mfp and fat?
that's why I don't bother with tracking apps
I eat at least 2 avacados a day, seeds, nuts, beans and other veggies
not all Fat is created equal- the fat in avacado is a mid- chain fat and can not be stored by the body for example
natural sugar from fruit is not the same as a cookie
my advice- drop the app- you know more about nutrition then it does

Tracking on mfp and fat?
I had the same problem with mfp but I just went by the calories, my fat was always over and I still lost weight. I was trying to lose five pounds like you, but ended up losing around 10 and my fat was over every day!

Re: Tracking on mfp and fat?
Unless you are training for a fitness competition then I don't think going over your fat macro is super important especially since your diet is clean.
Some days I can go over my numbers if I add things like salmon or an extra serving of nuts or seeds like chia and flax or avocado.....

Re: Tracking on mfp and fat?
Don't be afraid of fat! It will keep you full and you'll end up eating less because of it.
I eat 1-2 avocados every day, 1/2-1 can of full fat coconut milk, coconut oil, olive oil, nuts, almond butters. These are good fats and your body will be happy with them!
