Transition to bed from crib-Advice please

Has anyone had a really hard time getting their child to sleep in a bed? My DD just turned 3, and we just got her a bed. She absolutely loves her crib, and her bed was set up today. Her crib is still up because my DH was at work and can't take it down till tomorrow.
Tonight, she said she doesn't want the bed, she wants her crib. I feel so bad, that tomorrow she'll be devastated when the crib is gone.

Can anyone share some BTDT advice. I'm so worried that my great sleeper will be ruined!

we are on the same schedule! (no surprise there )

we just bought DS's new furniture and it will be set up this week...i don't know how he will handle it. sometimes he sleeps in his converted crib and sometimes he sleeps in this mickey mouse couch he has...he picks each night.

i know that didn't help...let me know how it goes!

We switched dd at age 2 b/c we were having another baby that would go in the crib. We literally prepped her for months about getting her big girl bed. We looked at big girl beds in magazines and talked about her older friend who just got a big girl bed. That really helped. She was very excited for it and transitioned beautifully.
